Vizcaya, 24 September 2024 – Herko Trucks, manufacturer of BioAutogas-powered trucks, has unveiled new features of its Herko Bios 35 at IAA Transportation 2024, held in Hanover, a prestigious international event in the automotive transport sector. With this move, the Basque company has reaffirmed its commitment to the evolution of sustainable and efficient mobility.

The Herko Bios 35 is a 3.5-tonne light truck equipped with a BeGas B430 LG engine, an innovative technology from BeGas, a leader in sustainable mobility solutions, approved under Euro VI E regulations and powered 100% by BioAutogas in Spain. This four-cylinder engine achieves 140 horsepower, offering not only superior performance but also a solid commitment to the environment. Low particulate and NOx emissions reduce pollution by more than 90%, while BioAutogas, derived from biomass and organic waste, offers a nearly neutral carbon footprint, achieving a CO2 reduction of up to 93%.

In the words of Pedro Silva, founder and president of Herko Trucks, "this makes the vehicle ideal for last-mile urban delivery and services such as street cleaning and crane use, positioning it as a key solution for cities committed to reducing emissions and improving air quality. In addition, thanks to its innovative features, it has been awarded the DGT Eco label in Spain, allowing it to circulate without restrictions in low-emission zones."

Herko has thus strengthened its presence at this international fair, where it presented the optimised version of its Herko Bios 35 at a 130 m² stand. This truck features a redesigned cab, designed to maximise the driver experience and improve the vehicle's operational efficiency. The model was on display throughout the fair, from 17 to 22 September, giving attendees the opportunity to see its new advanced features up close.

The company has also announced that it plans to produce 400 units of this model by 2025. In fact, 30 units have already been delivered to customers, demonstrating the initial success of this launch.
