Knowledge and Innovation

In HERKO we believe in knowledge and innovation as an essential way to generate a triple positive impact on economic, social, and environmental levels.

The company has signed agreements with academic institutions such as the public universities of Zaragoza, Basque Country (UPV-EHU), and Valencia.

Promotion of research and innovation, cutting-edge technology and engineering developments, and its bet on make HERKO a company at the forefront of sustainable mobility.

Commitment and Realism

Herko's biopropelled truck, the BIOS 35, is the result of a strong commitment to energy transition, circular economy, decarbonization, the fight against climate change, and the quality of life in cities or towns.

It is also a highly realistic solution for today.
By improving safety and profitability, it offers differential characteristics for environmental protection and complies with European, national, and local regulations.

Bio-LPG

Bio-LPG is a 100% renewable, sustainable, and circular alternative fuel obtained from biomass waste and vegetable oils. The European Union recognizes it as a key energy vector to its 2030 and 2050 decarbonization goals.

With zero net emissions, HERKO's BIOS 35 powered by Bio-LPG is the immediate solution that best integrates efficiency and realism for last-mile delivery and urban services. In addition, as part of its strong commitment to promoting this biofuel, HERKO is part of the strategic alliance led by CEPSA and BeGas to decarbonize professional urban transport by promoting with this biofuel.

USING BIO-LPG AS FUEL TRANSPORT PRESENTS SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGES

Emissions reduction

Compared to fossil fuels, for every tn of Bio-LPG consumed, 3 tn of CO2 are reduced. Polluting particles are reduced by 99%, and NOx particles by 96%. Odor, vibration, and noise are also minimized. Overall, its emissions reduction capacity makes the carbon footprint practically neutral and ensures the ECO label. Bio-LPG reduces the environmental impact of the transport industry and makes a decisive contribution to combat climate change.

It improves air quality

By generating fewer emissions, Bio-LPG improves air quality in urban environments, where reducing pollution is closely linked to public health protection.

Bio-LPG’s capacity to reduce emissions makes its carbon footprint practically neutral.

It increases safety

Bio-LPG provides optimal levels of safety due to its lower degree of flammability and being a non-toxic and non-corrosive biofuel.

It contributes to the circular economy and local development

By being produced from organic biomass, Bio-LPG reduces the amount of waste. Thus, the principles of sustainable mobility add to the foundations of circular economy and European objectives to reduce landfill disposal to generate a positive impact on the environment. The local production of this alternative biofuel also implies social and economic improvements.

It increases energy independence

Bio-LPG reduces dependence on fossil fuels and, therefore, on imports. Consequently, it is a fuel with greater price stability as it is not subject to the international markets fluctuations.

BIO-LPG FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Affirmative! The DGT classifies Bio-LPG vehicles as ECO due to the reduction of emissions compared to other fuels.

Bio-LPG is a 100% renewable fuel made from waste, residues and oils of sustainable origin. The carbon footprint of BioAutogas is practically neutral and allows a reduction of 3 tons of CO2 for each ton of Bio-LPG consumed.

No! Bio-LPG has the lowest flammability range in relation to other fuels, in case of leakage, it does not accumulate or puddle, but vaporizes and dissipates into the air.

Bio-LPG tanks are 20 times more resistant and withstand much more pressure than gasoline tanks, it is non-toxic and non-corrosive and, being a gas, it does not spill or leave residues.

Refueling Bio-LPG is as easy and safe as refueling gasoline or diesel. Bio-LPG meets the same quality and safety standards as all other fuels, which have been carried out by experts from the European Union and national governments.

The DGT classifies vehicles using Bio-LPG with the ECO-DGT label for their low pollutant emissions.

There is no increase in weight or loss of space, the tank used in the Bio-LPG vehicle is the same as the Autogas one.

No, the tanks to be checked are those that use CNG.

Yes, all pumps are the same, you could travel without any problem. By regulation the filling nozzle has to be standard.

No, it does not affect the life of the engine due to the Bio-LPG molecule. The gas does not have particles, which are the ones that cause carbon deposits, with the consequent degradation of the engine and loss of power.
